Winter Fun at SU

One of the great things about going to school in Pennsylvania is enjoying the seasons. We have really hot summers, really cold winters, and beautiful autumn and spring. Currently we are enjoying the cold cold cold weather of PA winter. Since returning to school from winter vacation, Selinsgrove has been hit with multiple snow storms. This is the time of the year where I find indoor activities to escape from the cold.

One of my favorite things to do on-campus during the winter is see movies at Charlie's Coffeehouse. Charlie's is Susquehanna's on-campus coffeehouse; home to cheap wing nights, club events, free sundaes and my very favorite: movie nights. Movies that are out of theaters but not yet on DVD can be seen for free at Charlie's twice a week. Currently, Charlie's is featuring The Social Network.

 Last week I went to see Life as We Know It. Seeing a movie at Charlie's is the perfect activity for poor college students. With movie prices sky rocketing to almost 10 bucks a ticket in some places, many students do not have the money to go. At Charlie's, movies are completely free and the comfortable couches definitely beat the auditorium seating in the theaters. The Charlie’s menu features movie theater food at a much cheaper price. With everything on the menu under $3.oo, I was able to afford as much food as I wanted. Overall, I would give Charlie’s movie night an A + for an activity to enjoy on campus! Especially during this winter weather, watching a free movie in a recliner is definitely my style!

    Hi, Sam!

    The blog is coming along. Nice pic of SU in winter. Try to add pics of people doing the activity you are talking about. For instance, a pic of your friends (or random people--but get their names for the caption and ask their permission) at a movie at Charlie's would really complement your nice description of going to movies there. Showing people ordering and eating food there would also be good (or even a pic of yourself at Charlie's). Good detail on this post.

    Make sure to break down longer chunks of text into shorter paragraphs separated by blank lines (or put information into lists).

    I would always love to attend events at Charlie's, but I never have anyone to go with! I would also like to see Charlie's make students more aware of their events and movie nights.

    I have always wanted to go to charlies for an event but never find the time to do so. I think I have only been there once in my 2 years here so far.
